As I am a founder member of the walking group, I have chosen to follow an original format: Walk, Picnic, Walk and then an evening meal.

We will stop at the halfway point for a bring your own picnic lunch about 12:30

This walk is on defined forest paths and tracks, providing lots of shade along the route.

The first half is about 4km and starts with a fairly long up hill climb where you will be rewarded with views of Puycelsi from the highest point in the Gresigne. From here we follow the paths and tracks to the halfway point and picnic stop. You will have to carry your picnic and something to sit on although there is a picnic bench we can use too.

Please note that it is necessary to walk 2km from the parking to the start of the halfway point and picnic spot if you are planning to walk just the second half. This is a flat walk on a forest road. Please ask me for further information if you wish to walk the second half only.

The second half is about 5km long and heads on down hill to the Cascade sur L’Audoulou and along the stream then we begin a climb back up to the finish where the cars are parked.

Please wear sturdy walking shoes and poles, it may be muddy and slippery in places.

If we have a hot day then insect repellent is a good idea and carry plenty of water.

If you would like to meet in Le Relais des Falaise in Larroque for a coffee before the walk you will find me in there about 9.30am.

To get to the start point take the small road to the right, on the bend, shortly after leaving Larroque in the direction of Bruniquel. This leads up the hill to the village of Mespel. Continue through the village for about 400 meters and you will find the car park at the entry to the forest.
