This past June, a group of 20 Northwood students traveled to La Cumbre, an idyllic community in the mountains of the Dominican Republic. This was a fully immersive experience- students lived with host families, and by the end of 10 days, many of us created bonds that will last a lifetime.
We wanted to be able to give back to the community that gave us so much- their homes, food, water, and most importantly, their warm welcomes and love.
We held a fundraiser and collected $5,800 that will provide the entire community with easy access to running water. Thank you so much to everyone who graciously donated!
