La Crosse Does Granny Basketball
Granny basketball provides fun, competitive exercise for women over the age of 50. We seek to promote a spirit of camaraderie, a model of sportsmanship and friendly competition.
The Does' motto is "While want to win, it's more important to have fun playing"

Rules are consistent with 1920s-era basketball. They pay tribute to the women who came before us and provide a safer game for older players.
No running (hurrying is allowed)
No jumping
Only two dribbles per possession
An underhanded "Granny" shot is worth three points
If a player falls, a "Granny Down" is called and the player must sit out for a minimum one play.
Players are to wear official throwback uniforms and may not expose too much skin. A flesh foul will be called for a violation.
