My name is Luis Angel, and I am the proud 17-year-old owner of LA Coffee Shop.

I began LA Coffee Shop at the age of 10, selling lemonade from my house as a stand. I then operated my lemonade stand until the age of 13. I then turned 14 years old and knew I wanted to make a change to my business and turn it into a coffee shop. I then started exploring and researching all about coffee, as I loved drinking and trying coffee from multiple coffee shops. I then knew I needed to create a name and logo, and knew I wanted to create a business name with my first name in it, which consisted of it being LA, which stands for my first name, Luis Angel.

LA Coffee Shop is a youth-owned, community-based coffee business founded by Luis Angel in Denver. What started as a lemonade stand at age 10 grew into a coffee shop at age 14, inspired by his passion for coffee and learning from different cafés. The name “LA” represents his first name, Luis Angel, and the green leaf logo symbolizes growth, harmony, and prosperity.

LA Coffee Shop operates as a home-based coffee shop with online ordering for curbside pickup and delivery, while also serving the community through pop-up shops, events, markets, and catering across the Denver area. Built with the support of family, friends, and the community, the business has expanded over the years, earned recognition such as two $1,000 Children Entrepreneurs Market scholarships, and continues to grow with a dedicated team and strong community connections.
