Below are resources to help understand how the Radio Frequency part of the network functions and some of the underlying concepts.

While the video below discusses  factors that impact Wi-Fi specifically, it is important to understand that both Cellular signal and Wi-Fi Signals operate on primarily the same principals and are subject to the same types of disruptions and interference.   As such, the same concepts can be extended outside the home when making the connection between the cell towers and client devices.

The video below gives a visual look at some of the things that interfere with Cellular service.  This video was created by a 3rd party (SOLID) that sells solutions for property management companies to increase the cellular signals in their buildings.  It is important to note that SOLID and their products exists because of the nature of issues with delivering wireless transmissions as a whole.
