‘Kyrshanlang Iwei Ia Iwei’ a.k.a ‘K11’, is a khasi word meaning ‘support one another’.
K11 It is an initiative started among friends in 2019 with a motive to tackle the issues of plastic bags and unemployment.
The team consist of 5 members and we work to provide regular job opportunities on a commission base. Currently we have are employing 12 individuals who are engaged with the paper bag making process. The team also creates awareness on the harmful effects of plastic bags.
We provide our customers with an eco friendly paper bag made up of recycled papers and decomposable handles such as jute rope, different types of leaves, waste papers, clothes etc. When the consumers uses more of our paper bags we come closure to our vision of minimizing the harmful effects of plastic on our environment and that is how the support chain builds up each day.
We are currently working to get in touch with various self help groups from different parts of the state in order to lay our support chains even to rural areas as well.
