Kymberli “Essence” Hunt-Edge is a national multidisciplinary visual artist, international performance poet, slam poet, muralist, and performance coach/mentor; born in Cleveland, Ohio. At an early age, Kymberli developed a rich and diverse passion for the arts, she is a gifted artist using multimedia to project visual realism in her artwork and is a poetic story teller with her own style and flair; weaving words that convey life situations. Essence is a firm believer in the statement that "every thing in some form or another is art, be it abstract or realism, it is all in the eye of the viewer". Essence has performed in several venues around Cleveland, the Ohio area, internationally, and many different states for both fun and competition. Essence is a multi award winning and published poet, co-founding member of Cleveland’s first all female poetry group E.V.E (Eccentric Visions of Evolution),
performing member of Level Up Crew, and a partner and host of Lift Every Voice Open Mic, self published three books of poetry, “Purple Essence”, “The Edge”, and “Insomnia”, published in three anthology books of poetry, “Time After Time”, The Harmony of Silence”, and Poetry’s Elite-The Best Poets of 2000, recipient of The Best Poet in Northeastern Ohio award, Best Poet-Scene 2024, Best Poet Scene (2nd) 2025, Best Artist Scene (3rd) 2025, Editor Choice Award, and inducted into “International Society of Poets”. Art work showcased at Columbus Gallery, Larchmere Arts, Artfully Phi Gallery, Design Studio 6 (Detroit, MI) The Art Gallery (Willoughby, Ohio), completed a three phase mural at Frederick’s Wine & Dine (Warrensville Hts.,Ohio), and nominated for the Cleveland Arts Prize in both Literature and Visual Art 2026
