This grant provided 350 Chromebooks and 60 LEGO SPIKE robotics kits for the STEAM programs in Title I schools in the Redwood City School District. These resources will provide additional exploratory learning opportunities for students in STEAM Labs in Redwood City.
Grant Writer / Implementer: Bristol Meyers - Squibb Hoover School STEAM Lab
This $100,000 grant funded the creation of the STEAM Lab at Hoover School in the Redwood City School District. The K-8 school is in the process of developing a K-8 scope and sequence for STEAM curriculum.

This grant provided $500,000 for Foothill College, over two years, with KCI as the managing division to establish and build a MakerSpace. As part of this grant, KCI has established 10 new courses in Design Thinking, Computing, and 3D Design and Fabrication. A MakerSpace Coordinator Certificate of Achievement will be in place in July 2018. To date, over 500 teachers, students, and community members have been served in the MakerSpace.
Co-Grant Writer: Google CS4HS Program (2016-2018)
This $70,000 grant funded KCI's Computer Science Crash Course. In two years, this program has served over 125 teachers. Starting in 2018, KCI will grant college credit for Computational Thinking for Educators (2 units). The program consists of 25 hours of face to face training during the Summer and 4 - 3 hour follow on sessions during the subsequent academic year.

This two year grant provided $150,000 to train over 150 teachers on Hawaii Island. This 30 hour program, provided training in 21st Century Skills (4C's) and Google Apps.

This first of it's kind conference in Arizona was designed to support intern and practicing teachers in Arizona.
TICAL: CAASPP, SBAC, PARCC Preparation Guide - 2013
Authored a guide published on the TICAL website to assist schools and districts in the process of preparing to administer the CAASPP, SBAC and PARCC Assessments. The guide includes four webinars: Transitioning from STAR, Infrastructure and Technology, Facility Upgrades, and Staff Training and Preparation. A school site and district checklist, practice tests, and other tools are also included in the resources.
iKeep Safe: National Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Work Group:
Member of the "Exploring BYOD: Civil Liberties, Access, and Expanded COPPA Rules" Work Group in Washington, DC. This group will develop a national white paper to be delivered at the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) conference in San Antonio, TX in June 2013.

The On[the]Line Initiative is a joint venture of California School Boards Association (CSBA), Association of California School Administrators (ACSA), California Educational Technology Professionals Association (CETPA), Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE), Computer-Using Educators (CUE), the law firm of Fagen Friedman & Fulfrost, California County Superintendents Educational Services Association (CCSESA), Technology Information Center for Administrative Leadership (TICAL), and CommonSense Media designed to provide resources and information to county offices of education, school boards, school districts and schools to help them deal with the increasing complexity of issues surrounding the use of technology in schools.

Computers were refurbished and given to students who did not have computers in their homes.
Developed a partnership with the City of San Bruno and Artichoke Joe's Casino to provide high speed Internet access to students who could not afford it.
Bay Region Initiative for Digital Gap Elimination (BRIDGE) Grant:
Partnership grant with the Regional Occupational Program and the Community Colleges (SB 70 Quick Start Grants) to create pathways for students to obtain college credit while still in high school and jump start their post secondary education.
School to Career Grant:
$35,000 to support the establishment of the Computer System Design and Art and Multimedia programs. Funds were used to purchase computers and other materials to start these programs.
