What are the criteria for demonstrating an understanding of information literacy?

Student:

• Consistently finds, evaluates, and uses credible, reliable, and varied sources.

• Uses vetted sources of information in project.

• Other evidence to demonstrate mastery: Some examples include, but are not limited to: submission of a portfolio of sources with reflections, annotated bibliographies, or reflective essays.

What types of activities could fulfill this criteria?

• Create an annotated bibliography to accompany a research project or presentation. 

• This primary source analysis tool and source analysis teacher guides from the Library of Congress can help students organize their research. 

• The National Archives has created leveled graphic organizers for students to support source analysis.
