Encouraging Civic Engagement - Fostering Discussion - Strengthening Rural Kentucky
The Kentucky Democratic Rural Council (KDRC) primarily seeks to secure rural Kentucky a seat at the table, both within the Kentucky Democratic Party and Kentucky at large. In addition, the KDRC seeks to organize and build Democratic support within rural Kentucky by engaging, educating, and mobilizing rural voters with the ultimate goal of strengthening the statewide Democratic infrastructure and electing rural, working-class candidates up and down the ballot.
As part of this mission, the KDRC strives to center all of its actions around three major goals:
1. Encourage Civic Engagement - increase voter participation and grassroots organizing in rural communities
2. Foster Discussion - lead larger discussions on key rural issues and bridging the two great divides: (I) Rural America and Urban America and (II) Democratic voters and Republican voters
3. Strengthen Regional Cooperation - facilitate collaboration and cooperation between County Parties, local, state, and national organizations, and voter groups
