2019/2020 Kickoff!
We are starting this year's KW Teach on September 26, 2019@7PM, featuring a keynote by our own Gene Girard. Join us to learn about "Unconferencing 101: An introduction to an informal, community-led event”. Naturally, we'll follow the talk with an actual "unconference" discussing a variety of topics.

Our December 6, 2018@7PM, features a keynote presentation by Andrew Bieronski. Andrew is a teacher and consultant with the WRDSB, an educational technology startup mentor and the founder and director of TEDxKitchenerED.
Title: Get to know the great EdTech companies of KW!
Description: There's a lot of great software being built for education right here in Waterloo region! Learn about and meet some of the educational technology companies that were built in K-W that are changing the educational landscape and how they can be a useful tool in classrooms. Andrew Bieronski will quickly introduce you to some of them and what they do including: Chalk.com (online lesson planning & assessment), WorldVuze (world map based student connection platform), LightBot (learn coding principles), Knowledgehook (AI powered Math instruction), Hour Republic (online experiential learning tracker), and InkSmith (3D printers, robotics, VR). Following this quick intro, the founders and/or reps of these companies will be on hand to join breakout sessions for attendees to learn more about these products from the people building them.
Our meetup also features an unconference session, where we all get a chance to participate in open discussion. For this meetup we are also hosting an hour of code session that will run parallel to the unconference session. If you are attending the hour of code please bring your laptop.

Our April 25, 2018 meetup features a keynote by Marc Lepage who will be demonstrating Phosphor, a browser-based microcomputer with built-in tools for teaching computer science and related concepts. Come see what he’s built, give him feedback on the design, and then join in our “unconference” as we discuss a wide range of topics.
