How long will it take me to complete my pre-licensing courses?
The state of South Carolina requires 90 total hours of course work to earn your real estate license (60 hour Unit I course and a 30 hour Unit II course). Both are covered in the KW School of Real Estate. Once you are registered, you have 6 months to complete the courses and the final exams for each.
How is the course material delivered?
This is an online, self-paced course. You can access course materials online at any time!
What are my steps to getting licensed?
Complete 60 Hour Unit I Course & in-class exam (on your computer)
Apply for the exam with the SC Real Estate Commission - $25 exam application fee applies
Complete your fingerprinting and background check. You will receive instructions on your background check after submitting your exam application.
Pass your State & National exams at PSI (in person)
Complete 30 Hour Unit II Course & in-class exam (on your computer)
Mail broker-signed license application form and proof of passing your courses and exams to SC Real Estate Commission with $50 licensing fee
What is the cost?
KW SCORE provides the entire 90 hours of coursework and required in-class exams at no cost to you. To complete the process and earn your real estate license, there will be licensing costs, including:
$25 state & national exam application fee paid to SC Real Estate Commission
___ fingerprinting/background check fee paid to SC Real Estate Commission
$50 license application fee paid to SC Real Estate Commission
Once you have earned your license, there will be business start-up costs. These can vary depending on the brokerage you choose to affiliate with. They include, but are not limited to:
Association of Realtors membership
Multiple Listing Service (MLS) membership
Errors and Omissions insurance
Marketing start-up costs
Training costs

I’ve completed all the licensing requirements - what’s next?
In order to activate your license with the state of South Carolina, you must hang your license under a broker in charge. In selecting agents to work at our brokerage, we are looking for associates who are highly motivated, committed to the pursuit of excellence, and a strong cultural fit for our organization.
