Module 1: Assignment 2- RTG, Critical Reading, & Cultural Connections
In this assignment, it was instructed that we read the first five chapters of Mrs. Mutsuki's book. We were meant to critically read to correctly answer the questions given.
This assignment required reading chapters six through twelve. Many of the questions were about Japanese culture, which helped me connect with the assignment more.
This assignment required using our past RTG assignments as references to see how Mrs. Mutsuki grew in her mindset and her time management skills. We were to then answer the same questions about ourselves.
After reading chapters thirteen through eighteen, we were asked several questions about self-advocacy and self-empowerment, many of which pertained to Mrs. Mutsuki. Seeing as to how we answered those questions, we needed to answer some about ourselves. I pointed out the several faults in my work ethic and empowered myself to take control
This assignment was an in-class activity in which we were instructed to survey by truly to find out which careers were most suitable to us. Many of the survey questions consisted of things we would like to do rather than what we are good at, which ultimately made me feel that it was not exactly accurate.
In the Jung-Self Test, my results were that of an ISFP. This meant I was mostly introverted, sensing, feeling, and perceiving. Maybe this meant that I liked observing rather than interacting.
With the research conducted beforehand, I was then able to create a presentation about my dream career, civil engineering. I would more preferably be an architect, but the payment is too low. We needed to conduct an interview with someone whose degree is related to our dream career. I interviewed Dr. Tashtoush, as he has a Ph.D. in engineering. I was ultimately satisfied with the interview, as it had the minimalistic design I wished for.
Photo Essay
Out of all the assignments, the photo essay may have been the most difficult of all of them. However, this assignment gave me time to gain an insight into how impactful this year was and how to express that feeling through writing.
