Biography

Kwanho Shin is a Professor of Economics at Korea University and a CESifo Research Fellow of University of Munich. He received his B.A. and M.A. in economics from Seoul National University and his  Ph.D. in economics from UCLA. He served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Kansas for four years and has occasionally taught as a visiting professor   at UCLA, Claremont Graduate University and Claremont McKenna College. He was elected as "One of the Fifty Future Leaders in Korea” by the Seoul Economic Daily in 2010, named as a “MaeKyung Economist” by the Maeil Business Newspaper in 2011 and awarded a “Dasan Economist Prize” by The Korean Economic Daily in 2020.  He also served as a council member for the National Economic Advisory Council from 2010 to 2011 and from 2022 to 2024. His publications on business cycles, growth, monetary economics, finance, international finance, and labor economics have appeared in leading academic journals, including American Economic Review, Journal of Monetary Economics, Journal of Econometrics, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, Journal of International Economics, Journal of International Money and Finance,  Journal of Banking and Finance, and Journal of Labor Economics.

신관호 교수는 서울대학교 경제학과에서 학사, 석사학위를 취득하고 UCLA에서 박사학위를 취득한 후 미 캔자스대학에서 조교수를 거쳐 현재 고려대학교 경제학과에 교수로 재직 중이다. 신관호 교수는 미국의 UCLA, Claremont Mckenna College 대학, 일본의 오사카 대학의 방문 교수로 연구 및 수업을 진행한 바 있으며 현재 University of Munich의 CESifo Research Fellow이다. 신관호 교수는 2001년 계량경제학회에서 수여하는 김태성 학술상과 2002년 한국경제학회에서 수여하는 청람학술상 을 수상하였다.  2010년에는 서울경제신문에서 주관한 “미래를 이끌 50인”에 선정되었고, 2011년에는 매일경제신문에서 주관한 “매경이코노미스트”에 선정되었으며, 2020년에는 한국경제신문에서 수여한 "다산경제학상"을 수상하였다.  2010년에서 2011년까지 국민경제자문회의 위원, 2013년부터 2015년까지 금융발전심의회 위원, 2020년에서 2021년까지 금융감독원 자문위원회 은행분과 위원장을 역임하였으며 2023년에는 국민경제 자문회의 거시금융분과 분과장을 역임하였다. 그 밖에 한국은행, 국회예산정책처, 대한상공회의소, 대외정책연구원(KIEP), 한국장학재단 등의 자문교수를 역임하였다. 연구분야는 경기변동 및 성장, 금융 및 통화, 국제금융, 노동 등 다양하며, American Economic Review, Journal of Monetary Economics, Journal of Econometrics, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, Journal of International Economics, Journal of International Money and Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Labor Economics  등에 논문을 게재한 바 있다.
