Accessing Brightspace

The Course Homepage

1. Content - The recommended place to start - use this link to see all of the content in the course.

2. Assignments - Find a list of the course assignments and discussion board topics here.

3. Grades - See your grades here for assignments you have completed.

4. Notifications - Information and alerts appear here for anything new happening in your courses.

5. Announcements - Your instructor may post important announcements and news here for you to read.

Content in your course

1. Course Modules - Your course is organized into sections called Modules, which appear here. Each module will contain its own assignments and information.

2. Content Items - The Content page shows a summary of all the items in each module. Click on an item to open it up and view the complete content information.

3. Due Dates - If an assignment has a due date, they are shown here.

Other Brightspace Features

Completing Assignments

Each section of your course will have its own assignments, which could include writing, researching, reading, uploading files, interacting with other websites, or other activities to help you learn about the topics of your course. 

Using Discussion Boards

Discussion Boards are used to interact with the other learners in your course. You can start new topics and reply to comments that others write. Your course may require you to write a certain amount for your discussion posts. 

Grades and Progress

Some assignments or quizzes have grades associated with them. You can check your graded items, feedback from your instructor, and your progress in the course through the Grades link. 

Notifications

Brightspace has an app called Pulse that can be used to receive mobile notifications.
