KVALEdit ("the app", "we", "us") is a photo-editing application for Android. This policy explains what data the app handles and how. By using the app you agree to this policy.
The short version: your photos never leave your device. We have no accounts and no servers of our own that receive your images. The only data leaving your phone is standard advertising and crash/analytics information collected by Google services, described below.
The app is developed and operated by an individual developer, Aleksandre Bakidze. For any privacy question or request, contact: support.kvaledit@gmail.com.
KVALEdit edits photos you choose from your device or take with its built-in camera (KVALECAM). All editing — filters, cropping, text, stickers, frames, drawing, collages, and background removal (which uses on-device machine learning via Google ML Kit) — happens locally on your device.
Your photos are never uploaded to us or to any server. We cannot see them.
To let you return to unfinished work, the app stores the following in its own private storage area on your device, where other apps cannot read it:
copies of photos you open for editing, and of images you add as overlays;
your saved drafts, presets and settings, with small preview thumbnails;
for drafts that use background removal, the subject outline computed on your device, so the draft reopens without recomputing it.
This data stays on your device. It is removed when you delete the corresponding draft in the app, when you use "clear cache" in Settings, or when you uninstall the app. Finished images are saved to your device's gallery, or shared, only when you choose to.
Photos you take with KVALECAM are saved to your device's gallery (the "KVALECAM" album) when you press the shutter, so a shot is never lost. If you turn off "keep original" in Settings, the app removes that original shot from the gallery after you export an edited version of it. The app only ever removes photos it took itself.
Photos and media — used to show your most recent gallery photos for quick selection inside the app. Choosing a photo normally uses the Android system photo picker, which needs no permission. Granting access is optional; the app remains usable without it, and photo access is never used to transmit anything.
Camera — used only while you are in KVALECAM, to show the viewfinder and take photos. Camera images are processed on your device and are never uploaded or transmitted. Granting access is optional; the rest of the app works without it.
Vibration — optional haptic feedback, which you can turn off in Settings.
The app uses the following Google services, which may collect information as described in their own privacy policies:
Google AdMob — shows advertisements. Ads in KVALEdit are rewarded ads that appear only after you choose to watch one in exchange for unlocking a feature; they are never shown unprompted. AdMob may collect your device's advertising identifier, IP address, and ad-interaction data to serve and measure ads. See Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses data.
Google Firebase Analytics — anonymous app-usage statistics (for example which screens are opened) and the advertising identifier.
Firebase Crashlytics — crash and error diagnostics, including device model, operating system version and app version, so we can fix problems.
Firebase Remote Config — retrieves configuration values (such as the minimum supported app version) so features can be adjusted without an update.
Firebase Cloud Storage — used only to download sticker images into the app. Nothing is ever uploaded to it.
Google Play services / ML Kit — provides the on-device subject segmentation model used for background removal. Image processing happens on your device.
We do not require you to create an account, we do not collect your name, email address or contact details through the app, and we do not sell your personal data.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region that requires it, the app shows a consent form (via Google's User Messaging Platform) before personalized ads are served, and the advertising SDK is not started until consent allows it. You may consent, refuse, or manage your choices there, and you can change your choice at any time from the app's Settings screen.
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete data held about you, or to withdraw advertising consent. Because we do not hold an account or personal profile for you, most of your data is under your direct control:
delete drafts and cached files inside the app, or uninstall it, to remove local data;
reset or delete your advertising identifier in your device settings;
change your advertising consent from the app's Settings screen;
contact us at the email above for any other request.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
