Feisty, loyal and playful, Pomeranians have the personality of a much bigger dog! Their fun and affectionate nature makes them a popular choice for families, whilst their small size is ideal for the city-based dog lover.

Poodles are amazing canines, capable of high intelligence, strong loyalty and having a range of emotions. Just like people, Poodles can feel sad, depressed, excited, happy, bored, overwhelmed...even jealous. 

The Poodle is known for being one of the most intelligent dog breeds in the world (within the top 5) with a unique temperament. Being so elegant, particularly the show dog, many people do not realize just how friendly and "people orientated" a pet Poodle is. They love human companionship, love to play and are truly  a fantastic canine family member.

Along with each Poodle having their own unique personality, owners find that their Poodle can also have some odd or particular habits or behaviors. Let's take a look at some of the behaviors of this breed and whether one should be concerned...or just chalk it up to the individuality.

Maltipoo Personality and Temperament

Maltipoos are friendly, outgoing dogs. They are gentle with kids, adults, seniors, and other pets—as long as they've been properly socialized. While Maltipoos make great companions for single people or families, they can experience separation anxiety if left alone for too long 

The Pug is a popular toy dog, known for displaying puppy-like antics well into their adulthood. They will suit an owner with a sense of humour who wants an affectionate, trainable small dog, willing to go everywhere with them.  

One of the pros of owning a Pug dog breed is that they don’t need that much exercise, but a downside might be that they do like to snore — a lot, and loudly. However, they’re perfect for first-time owners and they’re easily trained so they’re sure to make lovely companions. 

Chihuahuas are loving and loyal and make good pets for first-time owners. These little dogs have big personalities and range from feisty and outgoing to shy and timid. Intelligent and fiercely loyal to the people they love, Chihuahuas will happily accompany their owners anywhere and everywhere. 

Often described as clownish, it is playful, affectionate, and fairly energetic. Frenchies enjoy relaxing as much as playing and are ideal for the elderly. The breed is also good for children, as long as they understand the dog's limited ability to tolerate excessive heat or exercise 

A Cavapoo is a mix of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and the toy poodle. The Cavapoo, sometimes called a Cavadoodle or Cavoodle, is a small dog breed with soft, curly fur. This lovable and compact dog is known for their companionable nature, playful personality, and low-allergen coat, making them a great fit for many families. 

Shih tzu are renowned for their perky, happy temperaments. They are lively and friendly. Shih tzu tend to get along well with people of all ages and with other dogs as well as other pets of different species. Rarely you will find a snippy shih tzu, but most are very sweet.

With their short muzzles, shih tzu are not big chewers, but they do enjoy digging and some indulge in nuisance barking. They have a big desire to be with people, whether that is sitting on your lap or taking a hike through the park.
