Spring 2026

Just like spring, the first anime of the season is quite beautiful. The gods created the seasons, and decided to bestow their powers upon humans. When they recite a song along with a dance they change the season in an area around them, they travel througout the year to keep the sesonal cycle in motion. Or atleast thats how it should be, theres been winter for ten years... The visual style of this anime is very pretty, it tries some artsy things but maintains enough normalcy that its apreciated. The art itself is wonderful, the voice acting is full of character, and the anime seems to have a real story to tell. Depending on the execution, this could be one to remember. 8/10.

Girl was too popular in middle school, and hated the attention. Now in highschool is makes herself as closed off as possible and keeps almost everyone at a distance. The premise is a bit odd il admit. The art is nice so far, the girl is pretty, and the side characters are actual characters. I look forwards to seeing this one brew. I hope its height gap romance. 7/10.

Airing for 24 episodes. Set in the modern day, an isolated hidden village is attacked by militarily force. Backed into a corner the hero unleashes the towns spirit guardian (the daemon) to try and protect them. Nothing really stood out to me to be honest. It all seems pretty generic. Apparently this is written by whoever wrote Full Metal Alchemist so people have high hopes. I'll give it a bit more of a chance but honestly it just feels like generic shounen. 6/10.

Apparently by the author of InuYasha and Ranma. A girl was in a car accident when she was young. One day walking through a shopping street she is sent back in time and is attacked by a demon. Upon returning to real time she suddenly has weird powers. Honestly this kinda just sucks. The direction of the anime makes it very obvious its a manga adaptation, which isn't always a bad thing just very plain and uninspired. The writing, gags, setting, and characters also follow in a similar vain. The nostalgic aesthetic is the one thing that some people say they enjoyed, but honestly I didn't feel it had any at all. 4/10.

This is an anime about rakugo, a type of traditional japanese storytelling art. My first exposure to rakugo was from Joshiraku, a top tier comedy anime, so I was super excited for this. A girls father was an aspiring rakugo performer, and he was her idol. He practiced his heart out for an upcoming promotion to the highest tier of the rakugo ladder, but an old hardass judge decided to expel everyone instead. This was devestating for everyone involved, but inspired young Akane to cary on her fathers legacy and start performing rakugo herself. The animation and gneral direction of this are all great. A complaint is that they do go a bit heavy on the visuals during the rakugo performance which sorts detract from the art itself. I am also a bit concerned since its done by netflix that the translations will be slaughtered, especially punch lines. Overall It was a fun experience. 7/10

Definitly the most hyped anime of the season. A little girl living out in a small town always loved magic, but in this world only people born witches are able to cast it. A witch visists her mom's clothing store one day, and to help people out casts a spell. She was told to keep watch and not look while he was casting the spell, but she couldn't hold back her curisosity. I already knew the premis of this anime before heading in, and its honestly not very unique, so how well it lands will be purely depend on its excecution. So far its alright, but im not in love. The animation and pacing were both quite good, but honestly I found the voice acting quality a bit disapointing. It has potential and I see why people like it, but I don't see it becoming my favorite. Solid overall. 7/10. 

A loser introduces himself in class and reveals he likes drinking cola, watching movies, playing games, and nothing else. Hes resigned himself to being a perma-alone loser. The second prettiest girl in class heard his introcudtion and actually likes all the same things, so she corners him after class to become friends. They meet in secret to hang out on fridays. Honestly the animation is pretty whatever, soundtrack is lame, the characters are all super flat. Apparently the manga is good but I'm not really feeling it. 5/10.

Gero is the head of the poison clan of assassins, one of the oldest and most well respected. The issue is, hes single and his grandmother demands him find a partner to produce an heir. He thinks it's hopeless, but out on a job he meets a professional marriage scammer, and hires them to help him find a partner. This is an action comody with great style and animation. The plot is refreshing and fun. Everything seems well executed so i'm expecting this to be a blast all the way through. 7/10.

An otaku girl living alone likes to watch her favorite anime after work. One of her neighbors bangs on the wall to stop her from watching anything else. It turns out hes the author of that anime. Her neighbor on the other side doesn't like the author guy and pretends to be her boyfriend to keep her safe. Oh yeah, the author also punched a hole in all their walls so the three units are connected. I thought this would be a cute and fun anime but honestly its just really weird, and the plot feels empty. Animation and art are just fine. Honestly pretty disappointed. 4/10. 

Two Gyaru sit infront of an Otaku in class. They end up listening when he yaps about his favorite anime, and they become friends. The animation is fine but nothing crazy. The start of the episode has some insane 3D camera work, and then they never use it again. I really wonder why they did that since it was just a random shot too lol. The plot seems cute, and an anime based on the meme "Gyaru who are kind to otaku don't exist" is pretty fun. 7/10.

The people of the western kingdom are slowly starving to death while their nobility profits from war. An expidition is launched to the east to try and conquer the more abundant lands ruled by the barbarians. The art was pretty good, some of the action blended cgi. The girl is cute, the man seems fun, and the situation has a lot of potential. I thought it was funny, and am looking forwards to romance. 7/10.

Childhood friends start playing the I love you game. They tell each other 'I love you', and the first one to blush loses. They're now starting highschool and have been playing for four years. They were getting nowhere, so they changed the rules they they can do anything in order to get the other to confess. Along the way they both fell in love, but don't want to lose. The animation is pretty alright, but there are some zoom out shots where it seems like the character movement may be 3d. Its not a big deal though. It seems like a watered down version of kaguya sama love is war. The antics are fun, but its also nothing crazy. 6/10.
