Deserter superhuman shinobi assassin, saved by the shogun in order to find the elixir of life in the equivalent of hell. All so he can get back to his wife. Animated by MAPPA (think JJK). 8/10 this shows probably gona be big.
Shota adjacent boy with the urge to murder. The number one person he wants to kill is the tall pretty girl in his class. Shes dumb as a rock. He has a crush on her. school, slice of life, comedy, romance? 5/10.
Boyfriend cheats on her with some girl he met in game. She gets dressed up and goes to one of the games offline events to show him what hes missing and ends up running into a guildmate whos a pro gamer and super hot. She gives him an in game item to get him to pretend to be her boyfriend to get back at her ex. tl;dr hes just like me fr fr. seems cute and funny 7/10.
Post apocalyptic dystopia. Two people outside are trying to get to "heaven". Meanwhile there's a group of kids basically in a lab who don't know the outside exists. There's also monsters. lots of secrets but it vibes and seems legit. 8/10.
Servings Gods Who Go Too Far: Isekai with op protagonist. Has the harem tag. Very round? art style. Has meta dialogue about isekai light novels. Childish. 3/10
In terms of anime there is no anime. This is literally an "anime" about Vtubers, specifically Kizuna Ai. The start is just a vtuber concert (3D). I only tried it since allegedly its done by studio WIT. As someone who likes vtubers this is awful. 1/10.
Ugly bastard mc, finds a door in his grandpas house that leads to another world. He can freely go between worlds so the story takes place in both of them. I like the art style and it does some interesting POV shots. Seems really good for an isekai so far. 8/10.
One of the most famous isekai ever made, Episode 1 and already 2 bath scenes. 6/10
I adored the first season of this. Its the sorta show I enjoy watching dubbed. waiting for the dub/10.
I actually don't love konosuba. However, Megumin is the one character I think is done well. I adore wizards, and unironically think chuuni stuff is cool. This might be the best installment in the series. 8/10.
Wow this one is interesting. Mc is from a cult who killed him in a ritual and he reincarnates in a godless, magicless world. It seems normal but it feels like somethings wrong. It's revealed its a dystopia where people are ordered to kill themselves, and a small village who fear for their lives are looked down upon and killed randomly against their will. The story is really compelling if it weren't for some of the ugliest 3D monsters which are a huge shame. 7/10.
A comedy anime that I actually found pretty funny. Hero dies to a shitty trap made by an unpleasant farm boy who has a thing for thighs. Necromancer makes the farm boy be the hero. 6/10.
Very moe style. rotten cute girl who just wants to marry into money with a rich husband. hurts a girl by accident and is forced to fill in for her at her job at an all girls cafe. kinda shit even for bait. 4/10.
Peak fantasy continues, looking absolutely beautiful too. School arc this time it seems. Not much to go off of but I'm confidant to give it an 9/10 off the rip.
A NEET elf is worshiped as the goddess of a shrine. She's scared to go outside since things would have changed since she's immortal. Very on the nose product placements for Fanta and Red Bull. Very wholesome and chill slice of life. Great opening song, even better ending song. 7/10.
Super campy, super stupid, very fun. Everything Otaku, people and merch are being hunted and contained by the government to "protect" the culture. A group of Otaku formed a resistance with a "magical girl?" to fight back. I think its awesome but might be too much for some people. I haven't seen it but people have compared it to FLCL. I highly suggest everyone watch the opening for this show its something. 8/10.
This show makes its return... Tonikawa... better known as the best propaganda for getting married. Seriously nothing else has made me want a wife like this has. Quality continues to be great as the first season. 8/10.
Self aware Isekai where the guy reincarnates into a game world, yep you guessed it medieval Europe. Happy to report that the dragon is not cgi. Hes about to die and cries out for his big sister whos a total degen bro con, who gets accidentally summoned. Shes op hes weak but her feats keep getting attributed to him so people think hes strong. Trash but I like trash. it has the romance tag :P. 7/10.
Black Clover and One Punch Mans love child (with a dash of hogwarts). Magicless children are killed, society is kept pure as only magic users. The more magic you have decides your status. One magicless boy was hidden and he trained his muscles in secret to the point of stupidity. watch him smack dragon slaying magic aside like a fly as he tries to be the #1 at a magic academy. 9/10.
Five girls naked or in underwear in the first few seconds. Harem, Ecchi , Romance tags. opening animation is cute. 5 girls are living and working in this guys grandmas café. She dies so he turns up to demolish the place and make it a parking lot. The 5 girls try to seduce him into not kicking them out and tearing it down. He ends up deciding to try living there and running the café for a bit and if it goes under then tear it down. 6/10
Art style is unique, ugly but charming is the best way to put it? Mc is a total bitch and is used as a punching bag by his schools delinquents. Gets a magic scroll from his dead grandpa. the magic ends up having the effect that the delinquent girls are in love with him. A new bad girl comes in from out of town, head honcho baddie. she ends up being his bodyguard/girlfriend. 6/10.
Seems like a good power fantasy isekai. Guy was summoned once 5 years ago as the hero and ended their war against the demons. After that he reincarnated to a new life in a normal world. He gets summoned back again, this time his whole school class comes with, and the world is at war with the demons again. He sets off alone to end the war for the second time. 7/10
It is what it is, we get the bath scene and some cool demon scenes. more of the usual. 8/10.
A manga artist is trying to support his little brother and sister since their parents died. The deadlines are rough and he can barely make them. Suddenly someone applied to be his assistant, and shes a fan of his work. Helps him out. And then they kinda magically get engaged by accident? its hard to describe. very calm wholesome show. 6/10.
When I first looked into this anime I had some concerns about the studio, and yep the show does have some cgi, but its actually not bad. The corpse god necromancer is summoning armies of the dead and the hero who can see ghosts fight him off to save humanity. The necromancer wakes up in a new world in a new body that has its throat slit. Its just a normal modern world but it turns out he can still see/control ghosts. Its one of those rare evil mc stories it seems. There's also a hot crazy murder girl and people like those so that's a bonus. Imo the major intrigue in this show its its edgy theming. Its alright. 6/10.
If you liked call of the night you'll like this. Dude suffers from insomnia and can't sleep at night, and is always tired in the day with headaches. He doesn't want to sleep at his schools infirmary since then people would think there's something wrong with him. There's rumors that the observatory is haunted so no one goes there, he sneaks in to try and get some sleep and meets a girl there sleeping. Turns out they are both in the same situation. Since they're both awake at night with nothing to do they form a little club to go out and walk around at night together. 8/10.
SHOUJO ANIME ALERT. A girl is agonizing about not being able to get into any of the colleges she wants, and then gets an email saying one wants her. Right after someone pushes her off the building, she dies, and is reincarnated into a novel. She's a supporting character whos death is a plot point, but she doesn't want to die twice. Some good old social engineering with noble men takes place as she tries to get her fiancé (her eventual killer) to break up with her. Enjoyed this a lot tbh. 7/10.
Looking through I somehow forgot to write one for this despite it being one of my favorites.
9/10.
The first episode of this series is a special, meaning that its length is an hour and twenty two minutes long. It plays out as a prologue to the actual story, so is a full story arc.
Without spoiling anything the basic premise of the first episode is that there's a popular teen idol, who gets pregnant and gives birth to twins. Her doctor and another patient who were both super fans die and end up reborn as her babies. That situation is of course very problematic for an idol so she hides it and continues being an idol.
Now, my initial impressions were that the story was essentially the distilled mental illness of idol fans being presented for the audience to critique. It tries to portray the entertainment industry truthfully.
I sort of knew this already going into it, and didn't really like how people praised this since from my point of view its common sense. But maybe that's just me being biased since my university studies are sorta already in this area.
Up until this point I thought the story wasn't really anything special, and it was being carried big time by its art. The art and art style are really nice to look at all the way through.
The prologue arc ends with the episode, and seems to change the direction of the story quite drastically. I do think it was executed well.
To conclude I honestly think its overrated.
The reason it stands out from other shows is because it actually takes its time to set up a proper story instead of rushing ahead like many others.
Weird to say but I feel like its good because its designed to be good, instead of actually being good. Despite saying all of that, yeah its still a 9/10.
