I heard this one was a bit controversial, since there's a large age gap (26 and 16). Daughter of a yakuza family's parents died so she was raised by a yakuza caretaker. She goes to highschool, and he enrolls with her by bribing the school. She has a crush on him. That's about the rundown. I thought the promo art looked nice, but the actual animation was quite plain. It's also a shoujo title so if you've ever seen one you know how this will progress. Dialogue wasn't super impressive either. 5/10.
The first episode is double length. This is a rare power fantasy that's not an isekai. I had my eyes on this, but thought I saw CGI dragons in the trailer, happy to report the dragons are not noticeably cgi, or actually 2d. Dragons are superior beings terrorizing the world, and there are humans who fight back by being dragon hunters. They can be slain by direct sunlight or silver. Ragna is weak, but follows a genius dragon slayer girl named Leo around after she saved him in the past. Their ultimate goal is to annihilate the dragon god, and its bloodline. Everything is normal but Ragna starts seeing visions of Leo dying in battle. I won't say more than that. Projected to be 24 episode. Animation is decent(silver link), art is great. For now the concept definitely carries, but I heard the story gets better. If you like this type of show (me) 8/10.
This is a really chill and wholesome first episode. It's an anime about a father daughter relationship. Her dad is a retired adventurer, who found her as a baby in the woods. After she grew up a bit she set out to the city following in his footsteps to become an adventurer. She ends up at S rank. It's been five years since she's seen her beloved dad but her attempts to come home are always thwarted. So for now they're communicating by letter. I can already imagine how cathartic it will be once she finally makes it home. Animation isn't anything special, but you're not here for that in this sorta show. Characters seem to be well crafted. 6/10.
A guy loved beating shitty vr games. After beating an especially bad one and thinking nothing could top it, hes convinced to play a god tier vr mmo game. I was expecting this one to be really bad to be honest, and it surprised me. Funny, looks good, and nails all the gaming stuff quite well. 7/10.
Fantasy world where everyone is born with a single skill. The powerful are known as holy knights. The mc is a broke boy being beat down by the knights. His skill is gluttony, which just makes him starving all the time. He accidentally kills a thief in a confrontation and his skills activates, stealing their stats and skills. This is definitely a garbage show, but like a racoon, I'm a fan of trash. 6/10.
First to get it out of the way, this is done by Passione, and has Ecchi, Harem, School and Demons tags. You can probably guess how it goes by that plus the name. Gods wipe out the demon lords, the last demon lord resurrects 1000 years in the future as a little boy, where now humanity is fighting off void creatures. Uses CGI for the void creatures. 5/10.
Most important thing to know is that this is a yuri anime. Girl reincarnates as the mc of an otome game. Instead of the three male romance routes, she immediately confesses her love to the villainess, who is repulsed. It definitely tries to be a comedy, and is being simuldubed if you're into that. 5/10.
The world is free of war, and each country has a super hero. Every person dreams for peace. Japan's hero is a girl of 14, who's hero name is Shy, well because she's shy. These aren't classic hero powers il say that much. She's especially troubled and unable to activate her powers after failing to save a girl. The plot is a bit mysterious . This seems like it could be interesting and the animation is good. 7/10.
An unsolved serial murder case, and a naïve detective about to be kicked off the 1rst team. He turns to a hot mess of a detective who's sworn off doing cases for help. The hot detective solves the case... but has a bad uncontrollable habit of pressuring the suspect to kill themselves once apprehended resulting in no arrest. Comedy is maybe a bit forced, but a solid detective show. 7/10.
This is an anime for a pre existing hip-hop media project. I think its told though drama cd's, websites, and twitter accounts. This anime was heavily marketed. Basically think Love Live or Visual Prison for the music performances. The plot is that there's phantom metal, which allows artists to manifest illusions during their performances. A legendary group reappeared after 10 years and is hosting a tournament to see who's the best. Its like a hip hop and rap thing so its a nice change from the normal music animes i guess. You probably already know if you're the type to like this show. 6/10.
Slice of life + isekai + fantasy + shojou. This is a sequel. I remember the first one being quite good. 7/10.
Banger 2nd season coming off of a banger first season. 8/10.
A bastard princess is exiled and turns up in the woods at a demon lords house. He's a silly guy. He thinks its sad that she's never had a real happy memory in her life. She is super pure and has no hobbies, so he decides to teach her all the naughty fun things, like eating cake for dinner, so she can be happy. Its cute but really nothing special. 4/10.
This is an oddball. To get it out of the way this is a CGI anime, and (at least this first episode) was a bit perverted. That said it actually looks okay... and the plot is also... okay. App on this guys phone says hes been chosen to be god. All the candidates try to kill each other to become god. 4/10.
I love everything about this. Highly suggest just watching it since my little summary wont do it justice. An illustrator in 2023 is working at a game company. She wants to make a full price legendary bishojou game, but these days everyone is just playing gatcha, and her company is making milf hypnosis eroge. After making a wish she finds herself back in 1992, the golden year of bishojou games. Rance is name dropped 9/10.
Romance with no comedy tag. A guy loses a bet with his nerd friends to ask out his crush, he askes out the prettiest girl in class and she actually says yes. The word is that she switches boyfriends every 2-3 months. She takes him home to have sex, since she thinks that's what boys want, but he puts a stop to it until they actually learn more about each other. A lot of people I've seen in comments don't like the guy and the girl, if they bother you then its probably not your show. Personally, I think it'll be nice to see how they learn and progress together. 6/10.
Starts with a flashback of the 1rst seasons first episode infamous scene. Mili do the opening again. I love goblin slayer, it just tickles my brain the right way. 8/10.
I had to pause this and take a breather, its heavy. God made witches to guide the humans, the humans didn't like asking for help. They developed technology and slaughtered all the witches to regain their dignity. A human boy was the apprentice of one of the last witches. Not spoiling too much, episode ends with a flash 10 years to the future. This seems really good, but if the rest is anything like the first episode its brutal. 8/10.
I was betting on this one to flop, but this was a blast. A girl who brings terrible luck to those who touch her skin, and an undead who wants to die. A perfect match. Their chemistry is great. There's also an organization of men in suits who seem to be trying to contain those with powers. This was a really great first episode, its a shounen jump title, and done by david productions. 8/10.
A young apothecary girl gets kidnaped delivering herbs. She gets sold to the rear palace as a servant girl, and manages to user her knowledge to save the lives of a high ranking consorts child. Seems to be ancient china as a setting. Very well written, paced, animated and produced. Scheduled for 24 episodes. Highly recommended. potentially a 9, but tentatively 8/10.
The princess of the empire is thrown in prison and executed, as her head rolls she wakes up as her twelve year old self. The setting is clearly referencing the French revolution and Marie Antoinette. The girl has her future selves diary and plans to not make the same mistakes. Desuwa~. This is a shojou, with the comedy, romance and school tags so don't expect it to be too serious. I've heard from people this was a good story. 7/10.
His party kills the final boss aka god awful cgi dragon with spell effects just as bad. Mc wakes up thirteen years earlier, and will do it all over again but this time hopes to not lose his friends. Apparently adapted from a manhwa. Awful pacing, terrible cgi, 2d animation is mid, scripting is poor. 3/10.
Space time messes up and kills a office worker girl, gods let her reincarnate. She actually gets to say goodbye to her family which ive never seen an isekai do. She reincarnates into a world without magic and can make whatever potion she wants just appear. A bit on the cute side art wise, but is just an average show. Decently funny. 5/10.
The second part of this anime. The first one was great and this jumped right into the thick of it. 8/10.
Second season of spy family. More family antics. 8/10.
Season two of this series. Its always been more on the slow side, and seemed to be keeping up the quality. 7/10.
Decent comedy with hints of serious in the background. She just like me fr fr. Good animation. Cute vampire. Shut in vampire princess with no powers is forced to lead an army who will kill her if they find out she's weak. fripside song included. not yuri but baiting. 7/10.
A man is turned into a pig in another world. A cute maid servant who can read minds helps him and follows his wishes. He likes being called and treated like a pig by a cute girl. They are both perverts. This honestly feels way more degenerate than actual hentai. Hes also like half trying to find a way to return to being a human but that's not really the focus. The VA of the pig is Isnosuke, Kirito, Miyamura, and more so that's kinda funny. 6/10?
Idk what I just watched, it was really strange but also sorta a vibe. The animation style is that sorta ugly unique older style. The plot isn't really explained too much other then that there are ninjas just living in japan. Meaning random people are just secretly ninjas, like the post man, and they're struggling to find work. There's jokes about Japanese spelling/pronunciation, Jump magazine, Doraemon sleeping in a closet, and other stuff like that. It all comes across as deadpan humor, but is really grounded. Very unorthodox show to say the least. Oh yeah there's also engrish for foreigners. After reading this you're probably just as confused as I am, so just give it a shot imo. 7/10.
An awkward girl is a loner going into her first year of highschool, she can't talk to humans well so her goal is to make friends with an alien. Just so happens that an alien (looks like a regular anime girl) shows up at her highschool the next day after she wished upon a star, and they become friends. Animation looks nice, but the mc cries a lot, doesn't talk much. Its very much a cute girls doing cute things show, and not the best one at that. It is tagged as yuri, but I didn't see, and don't expect anything more than baiting. 5/10.
A man gets rejected 100 times, he prays to a god at a shrine, who tells him he will meet his soulmate in high-school. But god made a mistake, and instead of granting him one soulmate, he wrote one hundred on the form. To make things more complicated, since having a soul mate is so rare, if you don't date them they die. You read the title, this is the harem to end all harems. I would like to add this actually does have multiple fourth wall breaks, mentioning cutting lines from the manga, and where the commercial break is mid episode. Pink hair is great but tsundere are good too. 7/10.
This series begins after the adventurers defeated the demon king. It's focus is not on adventure in the traditional sense, since that journey already finished. The adventure we see is from the perspective of an elf girl, learning to deal with the passage of time. The feel of the show is everything progressing calm and slowly. Instead of feeling dull, the pacing feels right and contributes to the overall tone of the story. The animation is not over the top, and I would say leans on the simpler side as far as art style goes. With that said everything still looks great and remains consistent throughout. I can't comment much on the music. Overall episode one met expectations. It is listed as having twenty eight episodes, which is quite a long run. With that in mind, I think Frieren is set up wonderfully to tell a compelling story. 9/10.
