Schibsted ASA (FINN AS) vs. Konkurransetilsynet. Testimony before Gulating Lagmannsrett (court of appeal) and Høyesterett (supreme court). The Norwegian Competition Authority prohibited the acquisition of Nettbil AS by Schibsted ASA who owned the used car sales platform FINN AS (konkurranseloven § 16). The supreme court upheld the decision of the court of appeal to allow the merger. This was the first merger case before the courts in Norway.
Telenor ASA vs. Konkurransetilsynet. Testimony before Gulating Lagmannsrett (court of appeal). Telenor was fined 788 MNOK by the Norwegian Competition Authority for abuse of dominant position by deterring the building of the 3rd mobile network in Norway. The court of appeal upheld the fine and the supreme court dismissed the appeal by Telenor.
Aschehoug, Cappelen Damm, Gyldendal, Vigmostad & Bjørke, Bokbasen vs. Konkurransetilsynet. Testimony before Konkurranseklagenemnda (The Norwegian Competition Appeals Tribunal). The competition authority concluded that the publishing houses had engaged in illegal collusion by sharing information about future book releases and prices through a book database. It classified the conduct as a by object infringement and imposed a significant fine. However, the Competition Appeals Tribunal disagreed and overturned the decision following the publishing houses' appeal.
