While gazing out at the calm waves of Mogi-ne Beach in Amakusa,
we hope you can take a slow sip of coffee and feel a quiet sense of richness in your heart. No matter what kind of day it is, the gentle sea before you softly soothes your mind. For those visiting in search of an Amakusa café or Kumamoto gourmet experience, KUROMON COFFEE AMAKUSA is a place where you can simply unwind and feel at peace.
Our coffee comes from the Fukuoka-based roaster KUROMON COFFEE —
crafted by one of Japan’s renowned roasters, now available here in Amakusa.
We hope our local guests discover the joy of “such wonderful coffee being so close,” and that travelers find comfort in knowing, “KUROMON COFFEE is here, too,” offering a familiar and special taste within the Kumamoto coffee scene.
Our parfaits feature seasonal fruits sourced from Amakusa and across Kyushu.
Through collaboration with Akashiya, a local confectionery, we bring you fresh aromas and sweetness of citrus that change with the seasons. These desserts — a true taste of Amakusa gourmet — are as delightful to look at as they are to enjoy. Because there are few places in Amakusa where you can casually enjoy seasonal fruits by the sea, we chose parfaits that let you experience both freshness and joy with ease.
Through my travels in Japan and abroad, I’ve always felt a desire to connect, even briefly, with each place I visit — to sense the lives of its people, even for a moment. Those experiences have always stayed with me. If touching the nature, people, and flavors of Amakusa can enrich someone’s heart and bring a bit of calm or inspiration to their daily life, that would make me truly happy. Whether it’s a once-a-year special occasion or a weekly reset, may this be a place where you can find yourself again.
Through my journey running cafés and Italian restaurants, I’ve met so many people and kept asking myself: why are restaurants so essential to our lives? Even though everyone values different things — food, conversation, space — what moves people is always the unique experience that exists only in that time and place.
KUROMON COFFEE AMAKUSA hopes to quietly support such moments.
A cup by the sea, a seasonal parfait — if they can create even a small space of kindness in your heart,
that is all we wish for.
