Teaching Reflection

Reflecting upon my teaching always provides me many dimensions of learning. It helps me to improve and overcome my weaknesses. When I entered the field of teaching, I was an amateur, I started reflecting upon my teaching. This was actually a transformation process and taught me how to be a reflective teacher. Be an English teacher, I learned:

1.Start with the alphabet and numbers.

One of the first things I’ll start with is to teach the alphabet and numbers. By teaching the alphabet and numbers, I can create a great foundation for everything else that my students will learn.

2.Teach pronunciation, especially for difficult sounds.

Teaching pronunciation is extremely important when teaching English as a foreign language. Consider focusing on sounds that are particularly hard for English as a foreign language students like:

The "TH." The "TH" (like in "thin" or "thing") does not exist in Chinese. As a result, it's relatively hard for Taiwanese students to pronounce.

3.Teach students nouns.

After teaching the alphabet and numbers, I’ll move on to nouns. Teaching nouns will be one of the easiest things for my students to learn. This is because students will be able to look at everything around them as potential things to learn.

Start with common objects in my classroom. Move on to common objects in your city or town. Good examples are: car, house, tree, road, and more. Continue on to objects my students will encounter in their daily lives, such as food, electronics, and more.

4.Instruct students on verbs and adjectives.

The next step after I teach my students nouns, is to move on to verbs and adjectives. Teaching verbs and adjectives will be a huge step in the process in which my students will put together full sentences (written or spoken).

Children are like a pot of flowers. If you'll give them proper attention, they'll grow up properly; but if you'll give them lack of attention or extreme care, they’ll be destroyed.

Education is nothing but a concern for love and role model.
