Associate Professor Kumbesan Sandrasegaran (Sandy) joined University of Technology Sydney (UTS) in 2000. He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from McGill University (Canada), a Master of Science Degree in Telecommunication Engineering from Essex University (UK) and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Sandy has more than 33 years’ experience working as a practicing engineer, researcher, consultant and educator in Telecommunications. During this time, he has researched written more than 150 refereed papers in journals and conferences, supervised to completion 14 higher degree research (HDR) students (5 PhD, 9 M.Eng ) and undertaken industrial collaborations with Water Research Australia, Ecoseal, Alcatel, Nokia, Arup, Ericsson, and HP.
