Kumamon is the official PR character of Kumamoto Prefecture, created in 2010 to promote the region.
With his black body, round eyes, and signature red cheeks, Kumamon has become beloved for his humorous and charming personality.
He actively promotes Kumamoto through events, tourism campaigns, and collaborations with companies and products.
Kumamon Port Yatsushiro, completed in March 2020, is a modern cruise terminal located in Yatsushiro City, Kumamoto Prefecture.
Developed through a public–private partnership among the national government, Kumamoto Prefecture, and Royal Caribbean, the port is designed to accommodate some of the world’s largest cruise ships (up to 220,000 tons).

Kumamon’s main activity base, located in the center of Kumamoto City. He appears several times a week for stage performances and greetings.

Every Sunday, Kumamon appears on stage, so you can meet him in person.

In the rooftop garden, you can see a 4-meter-tall Kumamon statue. The garden is open every day from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM and admission is free.
