Primary school in the village

Volunteer Program

Working as a Volunteer in Nepal’s earth quake affected schools is an enjoyable and one of a kind experience where the volunteers get the opportunity to teach kids and learn themselves in return. Volunteers work either in government or privately run schools and also have the opportunity to explore Nepal by having trekking and tour around the country with local hospitality. Natural sceneries such as majestic Himalayas, green mountains, one-horn rhinos and more importantly gorgeous temples still intact after earthquake in 2015, and other historical places.

As a volunteer in Teaching English Program, you will be teaching English subject to school children for 6 days a week about 3-4 hours a day. Saturday is the day off except public holidays. Most of the school children in private school have good command of English but still they may need more practice. Whereas government school children have very beginner’s level. In the beginning local teacher will assist you to conduct class and solve any language barrier until kids become familiar with you then you can take control of the class to run independently. All private and public schools have curriculum you can follow or you can apply your own skills either. Volunteers will be working to promote positive educational, social, and health-related changes for children. You can teach them singing, dancing, playing games, painting, drawing or even sometimes you will take them to picnic, zoo, fun park, swimming etc.
