Q: What is HR? (Home Room)?
A: Each student is assigned a home room. It's a class - similar to the "READ" session at Walters. Students can use this time to catch up, get announcements, etc. It's very beneficial.
Q: The student's schedule shows only 1 homeroom, but the school website shows Homeroom 1, Homeroom 2, Homeroom 3 - what does this mean?
A: Student's will have only one homeroom per semester.
Q: My student has math for only one semester? How will the full curriculum be completed in just one semester?
A: Kennedy is on the block schedule, which is different then the other schools in Fremont. It's a nice advantage for Kennedy! Courses are designed to teach the full curriculum in one semester due to the students being in each period (block) longer than at other high schools. They have 4 blocks each term - which means they can theoretically complete 8 classes for the full year.
Q: I noticed that one of the period numbers are listed twice, and the term is shown as "3 or 4" instead of "S." Could this be a mix up or scheduling error?
A: No- this is not a mix up or error - this means they have one class period period 3 for quarter 3 and one class period 3 for quarter 4 - like Intro to Ethnic Studies and health are only one quarter each.
Q: My student has only one core subject scheduled in her second semester, with the rest being electives. I'm concerned this might be an imbalance.
A: You can voice your concerns about your student's schedule to their counselor.

A: Yes. Your student will need to know their Aeries password and Google account passwords. If you need help, you can email help@fusdk12.net to reset passwords or someone at the school should be able to help
Q: What are the supplies needed for the students?
A: If you can, send your student with basic supplies like pencils, highlighters, erasers, notebook, folder, etc. Some classes may want specific supplies, like a 1" binder or a calculator, but they will send home that information with their syllabus.
