Once the recurring project was over at Tau Beta Pi Grove, Kansas Gamma had to find another spring service project. With much experience planting trees, it made sense to find more tree-planting volunteer opportunities. Therefore, the chapter decided to plant trees at the Tuttle Creek Quail Habitat in rural Riley County, Kansas. The purpose was to serve the community in a way that benefitted both people and the environment. Fourteen members and five electees met up at the site, which was somewhat difficult to locate, on March 8th, 2008, where they spent about two hours planting trees. There were not many trees to plant, but the project was successful in that the job was accomplished. Afterwards, attendees shared donated food and drinks.
