After almost a year, Seyda finally feels accepted at Icosagon. Good thing too, because she's going to need the Dragonriders. Having called out the Elders on their corruption and misuse of power, the Elders have decided to put the Dragonriders back in their place using whatever political and personal tricks they can. That wouldn't be so much of a problem if it weren't for the other issues piling on her plate. Malcolm wasn't acting alone, and he has a sister out for revenge now too. The Silons are gearing up for war, with whispers of a new weapon that could turn the war in their favor, a war that those in power are steadfastly refusing to acknowledge. And what's more, Seyda has to deal with relationships changing with her father, her sister, Danny, and even Erik.
But as the country starts dividing, Seyda is fighting to bring it back together, showing the country and the groups in it that there's something more important than their individual agendas and disdain for each other. She's never liked politics, but it is her heritage, and it will be those skills that count to get help on the battlefield. And once the war finally starts, with or without an army behind her, the ones who hurt her dragon and her Dragonrider family will have to face the warrior that she is, and she's determined to make them regret it.
