This semester our group finished the senior design sequence. Below, you will find the final report for our project.

Project summary:
A living neural network is a culture made up of neural cells that are used as a model to study aspects of the brain such as learning and memory. The goal of the Living Neural Networks (LNN) Project is to explore how various electrical stimuli effect cultured neurons. For the project, we will design a system that does 2 things: 1) sends electrical inputs into the neuron culture to stimulate it (e.g. programming a micro to send pulses through probes) and 2) reads electrical outputs from the network and analyzes (e.g. reading voltage measurements across the culture or imaging the culture and analyzing in MATLAB). Members will perform a comprehensive literature review to determine a cost-effective method to both stimulate and image the network, design the test system, and assess the accuracy and viability of the proposed method.
