Welcome! I am a statistician living and studying in Houston, Texas, where I've lived since 2012. Currently, I am an Assistant Professor of Statistics at the University of Houston Downtown, where I teach classes in our Statistics and Data Science bachlors programs, as well as classes in our MS in Data Analytics.
I got my Ph.D. in statistics from Rice University in May of 2019, working with Dr. Christine B. Peterson in the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center Biostatistics department. I have a bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics from Texas A&M University.
My academic interests include teaching, statistical pedagogy, interpretable modeling, and radiomics data. On a more personal note, I am a lifelong Astros fan, an Aggie through and through, and am mildly obsessed with my dogs, AJ and Cassie.
I love statistics, and am enthusiastic about sharing such a dynamic and exciting field with others. For more information on my teaching and research, see the other pages here!
