My research lies at the intersection of comparative politics and political behaviour. Substantively, I study how fiscal and distributive policies—including government subsidies, targeted public spending, pension policies, and land privatization—shape citizens’ political attitudes and behaviour. I am also interested in the political consequences of corruption, economic inequality, and immigration.

I am interested in political methodology, in quantitative methods and especially in how we make (causal) inferences in social sciences. Across my projects, I draw on administrative data at different levels of aggregation, as well as expert and public opinion data, and employ quantitative methods, including experimental and causal-inference research designs.

My work has appeared in Perspectives on Politics, Political Studies Review, Politics and Governance, and the Journal of Development Studies.
