About the Artist

Kris crimmins is a former teacher with experience in pastel, oil, watercolor, and acrylic painting along with cut paper, textiles and photography. 

She has studied with several award winning artists including Doug Gillette, Paul Leveille, Rosalie Nadeau, Bill Maloney, Karen North Wells and Mary Whyte. She has a passion for plein air painting.

Kris has studied fine arts at many New England art centers as well as Children’s Book Illustration and Greeting Card Design at Rhode Island School of Design.

She studied under published writers and illustrators including Ryder Windham, Judith Moffatt, Nancy Cote, Cheryl Kirk Noll, Marlo Garnesworthy and Lori Surdut-Weinberg. She has spent many years as a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.

Memberships

Kris is also a member of the Wilbraham Art League and has participated in many art exhibits in Western MA, CT, and Cape Cod.  She has won several awards from these competitions. Her public art project, God Bless America, the Airplanes over Chicopee project, is on display at the Chicopee Electric Light Company, and Dottie the Sea Turtle, resides in Florida. She is represented at Art for the Soul Gallery at the Classical Condominiums in Springfield, MA.
