Postdoctoral Research Associate, University of Virginia
Hi there! I'm Kristen Raney, a scholar and educator who is passionate about exploring how organizations navigate stakeholder relationships, firm performance, and social evaluations. Currently, I’m a Postdoc at the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce, where I also hold a Mellon Race, Place, & Equity Postdoctoral Fellowship.
I recently completed my PhD in Business Administration with a focus on Strategic Management from Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business. For my dissertation, I conducted a qualitative study of firm performance and negative attributions in early-stage venture development.
Prior to joining the PhD program, I served as the Assistant Director of MBA Programs at the University of Arkansas. There, I facilitated curriculum development, experiential learning programming, stakeholder management, and program operations, while also serving as academic advisor to Full-time and Executive MBA students. During this time, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to teach strategic management and study abroad courses, as well as MBA professional development workshops.
