About Kristen

Kristen moved to Nashville in 2020 and has coached for C2 ever since. 

Besselsen coached at Gardner-Webb University (NCAA D1) in 2019. Before this, she played professional volleyball in Europe for two seasons, first for Örebro Volley of the Elite Series in Örebro, Sweden, and then for VFL Oythe Damen 1 in the Bundesliga Nord in Vechta, Germany.

Before her professional career, Besselsen was a standout player and three-year captain at Murray State University (NCAA D1), helping lead the Racers to three consecutive conference titles from 2014-16 and NCAA Tournament appearances in 2014 and 2016.

Besselsen earned First-Team All-OVC honors twice and finished her career ranked tenth in Murray State program history with 1,050 kills.

A native of St. Louis, Mo., Besselsen graduated from Murray State University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and earned her Master of Business Administration degree from Murray State in 2017.

Kristen is currently the Director of Marketing for Sesame Software.
