I am a Principal Research Staff Member and lead the Theory of Quantum Algorithms group at IBM's T.J. Watson Research Center. The research areas I  currently work on the most are quantum algorithms and noise in complex quantum systems.

I have received a diploma in Physics from the University of Heidelberg in 2007.  In 2011  I completed my Ph.D in Physics at the University of Vienna.  Between 2012 and 2014 I was a Erwin Schroedinger postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Theoretical Physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  Between March 2014 and September 2015 I was a postdoc  at the Institute for Quantum Information and Matter at the  California Institute of Technology. I have  joined IBM research in September  2015.
