"Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better. Treat Everyone Kindly. And LightUp the Night" - Samuel Beckett
I’m Krish, a Research Engineer working on thermal management and cooling of high-power electronic systems at Tyndall National Institute, Ireland. I currently focus on chip, package, and system-level heat transfer, using CFD and FEM simulations in COMSOL and ANSYS Fluent to design, evaluate, and validate practical cooling solutions.
Previously, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Limerick, where I worked on geothermal energy systems funded by Science Foundation Ireland. That work strengthened my foundation in multiphysics modelling, heat transfer, and experimental validation.
I enjoy solving complex thermal problems, building efficient simulation workflows, and turning physics-based analysis into engineering decisions. Outside work, I listen to music and play badminton.
Some of the areas my work covers are:
Renewable and Sustainable Energy
Hydrodynamics
Computational Fluid Dynamics
Multiphase Flows
Continuous Casting (Clean steel)
My Ph.D. is at the Advanced Design and Analysis Group at Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute Laboratory (Durgapur, India) associated with AcSIR. My Ph.D. topic lies in thermal and fluids with a higher inclination towards the computational modeling of wake vortex dynamics and its control in buoyancy-driven flows. I worked under the guidance of Dr. Dipankar Chatterjee, Sr. Pr. Scientist (World Ranking of Top 2% Scientists in 2020-2023 by Stanford University) and co-guided by Dr. Satya Prakash Singh, Pr. Scientist.
Note on collaborations and mentorship:
I am happy to collaborate with Researchers and Students working in similar areas. Let's talk!
I regularly mentor students, I have (limited) slots to mentor students with strong motivation. Write to me with what you need help with.
SOME COLLABORATORS
I am blessed to have collaborated with incredibly talented researchers and practitioners in this field whom I deeply admire. Many inspiring colleagues have crossed my path, and you know who you are :)
Most important collaborators are my parents and my awesome set of friends who shape my thinking and continue to tolerate me.😉
CONTACT
I love to talk to people who have ideas on research and/or practice in the aforementioned domains and I am up for interesting conversations and collaborations. so, don't hesitate to contact me...Let's get in touch over a cup of coffee 😄.
