How to Update Your Pioneer BDP-450 Blu-ray Player Firmware

If you own a Pioneer BDP-450 Blu-ray player, you may want to update its firmware to enjoy the latest features and improve its performance. Firmware is the software that controls the device's functions and behavior. Updating the firmware can fix bugs, add new functions, enhance compatibility with discs and online services, and more.

There are two ways to update your Pioneer BDP-450 firmware: via USB or via network. Here are the steps for each method:

Update via USB

Download the latest firmware file from Pioneer's website[^1^]. The file name should be BDP-450_Vxx.xx.zip, where xx.xx is the firmware version number.

Extract the zip file and copy the BDP450.ROM file to the root directory of a USB flash drive formatted in FAT32.

Turn off your Blu-ray player and disconnect it from the power outlet.

Insert the USB flash drive into the USB port on the front panel of your Blu-ray player.

Connect your Blu-ray player to the power outlet and turn it on.

The update process will start automatically. Do not turn off your Blu-ray player or remove the USB flash drive until the update is complete.

When the update is finished, your Blu-ray player will restart automatically. You can check the firmware version by pressing HOME MENU, then SETUP, then SYSTEM INFORMATION.

Remove the USB flash drive and enjoy your updated Blu-ray player.

Update via Network

Connect your Blu-ray player to your home network via Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi.

Turn on your Blu-ray player and press HOME MENU, then SETUP, then NETWORK UPDATE.

Select CHECK FOR UPDATE and press ENTER. Your Blu-ray player will search for the latest firmware online.

If a new firmware is available, select UPDATE and press ENTER. The download and update process will start automatically. Do not turn off your Blu-ray player or disconnect it from the network until the update is complete.

When the update is finished, your Blu-ray player will restart automatically. You can check the firmware version by pressing HOME MENU, then SETUP, then SYSTEM INFORMATION.

Enjoy your updated Blu-ray player.
