Hello dear friend,

Thanks for visiting my webpage! Welcome!!

A little about me...

Currently affiliated as Research Professor at the Department of Biological Sciences, College of Natural Sciences, Andong National University, South Korea.

Through my past research, I have formed a multi-disciplinary background with skills in ecological restoration, plant and soil ecology, bioenergy, bioeconomy, plant community ecology, sustainable development, and stakeholder engagement.

My professional career started with an outreach project to popularize medicinal plant-based household remedies among rural communities. Then developing agrotechnology for the cultivation of Jatropha curcas on marginal and/ or degraded lands in India.

My major research in restoration ecology is developed from my Ph.D. work at a decades-long ecological restoration experiment commenced by CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute, Lucknow in 1956 where I studied the effectiveness of different land use systems in rehabilitation of degraded land based on various soil health indicators.

My first two postdoctoral works assessed the impacts of different land rehabilitation methods on soil microbial communities and function using high throughput biotechnological tools. Applying biodiversity and ecosystem research in developing multifunctional communities of perennial grasses for biomass production on marginal land is my recent research work.

Currently engaged in research to understand the control of plant invasion and ecological restoration of native communities based on ecological concepts and hypotheses.

I am easygoing, always positive, love reading, helping others, and always in gratitude.

Hard work and learning are two traits which by anyone can easily be found in me.

IISF Science Village Program 2018

Co-led one of the major functions of IISF 2018 which was Science Village-MEGA STUDENT’S CAMP Theme. The Student Science Village program of IISF was organized at Central Lawn of the National Botanical Research Institute, Rana Pratap Marg. There were various scientific experiments conducted by resource persons called from across county for different subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, etc.,. Students interacted with renowned scientists from India and abroad as well, visited different research labs and garden components in NBRI. The students also enjoyed the sky watch and foldscope assembly at the center of science village program. On the basis of Indian Renowned Scientists (Kalam, Raman, Sarabhai, Bhabha, Khorana, and Bose) six houses were developed and in each house approximately 400 students (total approx. 1900 participated) were engaged in each one of the above activities on each day.
