Kridpuj Dhansandors (born 1994, Buriram, Thailand) is a doctor at a government hospital in the lower northeastern region of Thailand. He is interested in contemporary art and has been involved in various projects. Kridpuj’s interests include the clash between modern medicine, science, and the bounded individual. He likes to explore latent pre-modern stories and their relationships through objects such as artworks or spirit mediums. He often practices interdisciplinary work as a curator of moving images and films, as well as an art critic.
Kridpuj graduated with a certificate in Family Medicine from Khon Kaen University in 2024. He started a film club in the Faculty of Medicine in 2015 by screening films from the Documentary Club as a space to create conversations between medical students and people outside the department. In 2017, he started curating “Beang Film Festival” in collaboration with the Film branch, Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Khon Kaen University, “Nang Muang Kham” in Maha Sarakham Province. He was a curator of short films at the Khon Kaen Manifesto 2018. As an art enthusiast for over 10 years before working as a family medicine specialist until now, Kritpat has written articles in various media including Protocinema, No Man’s Land, The Isaan Record, The Isaander, art4d, Film Club, Prachatai and Way magazine. He also explores the possibilities of connecting art with working with patients in the community.
Kridpuj has curated film screenings including the screening of Ten Years Thailand with a discussion with Chulayarnnon Siriphol at Muang Kham Film Festival (2018) and co-curated with Filmvirus in the provinces, including Wildtype Pandemic at Huak Society, Khon Kaen (2018) and the short film program “Let me dream of an impossible dream” at ALIEN Artspace, Khon Kaen and MAIIAM Contemporary Art Museum, Chiang Mai (2024). He has also been invited to be a film curator with art exhibitions including STATUS IN STATU and UBON AGENDA (2020), Old Wounds by Prateep Sutathongthai (2022). He was also selected as a writer to participate in the Animistic Apparatus organized by May Adadol Ingawanij in Udon Thani (2019), as well as a panelist in “the Longest Way Round is The Shortest Way Home” exhibition at Gallery Ver (2020) and a researcher “Crying Sky” by Nutdanai Jitbunjong in Bangkok Art Biennale (2020). He is also a guest writer for EXCERPTS: CONTEMPORARY ART OUTLOOK ON UDONTHANI & RELATED organized by NOIR ROW ART SPACE (2021) and a day magazine issue 250 Apichatpong Weerasethakul (2021) He was also selected as an artist in the exhibition Shadow Dancing: Where Can We Find a Silver Lining in Challenging Times? at the Jim Thompson Art Center, Bangkok and Hongka Museum, Taipei, curated by Paweena Nekamanurak and Zoe Yeh (2020) and was also selected as an artist with Nontawat Numbenchapol in the group exhibition Uncountable Time at the Jim Thompson Art Center, Bangkok, curated by Arin Rungjang (2023).
