What is Hallway Heroes?
Hallway Heroes is a Comal ISD program that encourages volunteers to serve as positive role models on campus, while also being an extra set of eyes on campuses to enhance school safety. The program aims to engage family and community members to benefit our students and campuses.
Why should I consider being a Hallway Hero?
Positive role models on campus not only support our students socially and academically, but also contribute to overall safety and security. We appreciate all of our campus volunteers, especially our Hallway Heroes. For our hallway heroes, we offer special opportunities to volunteers like a district events card that provides free admission to events, a free meal while volunteering, and opportunities to be recognized by the campus and district for your support.
What would I be doing as a Hallway Hero?
AS A HALLWAY HERO, YOU MIGHT...
Engage and talk with students throughout the campus
Serve as a mentor for a small group of students
Interact with students during special classes and social times throughout the day such as lunch
Provide support during campus-wide events
Support the arrival/dismissal process
Who can volunteer to be a Hallway Hero?
Anyone can volunteer to be a Hallway Hero. Parents, relatives and community members. All volunteers must be approved by the district before volunteering, and must complete our online background check at least two weeks prior to the date needed to volunteer.
