Work in progress and next talks

I am presently involved in several activities of research and divulgation.

1. I am preparing a book on the metaphysics of non-individuality with my colleagues Jonas Arenhart and Otávio Bueno. If you have read other entries on this page, you surely have realized that this is my core passion in research. We aim to explore the possible view that there may be absolutely indiscernible entities that are not "the same" entity, as we should conclude if we take into account classical logic (classical logic and maths do not enable indiscernible but not identical individuals). We explore several ways to deal with such entities (supposing that they can be instantiated in some way). It will be a philosophical book but grounded on logical and mathematical bases, and with physical inspirations.

2. I am writing a book with Acacio José de Barros (State UN. of San Francisco) and Federico Holik (Un. Nacional de La Plata) about the different notions of indistinguishability in quantum physics. Our book Distinguishing Indistinguishabilities: Differences Between Classical and Quantum Regimes (to appear by Synthese Library) is almost finished (Oct. 2022).

3. I am involved with the writing of a lot of Class Notes I use in my classes on logic, philosophy of science, and the foundations of mathematics. I am continuing to write and improve these notes (in Portuguese) and I intend to collect them in an introductory book for philosophers and students of mathematics and physics. The problem is not scientific, but most of the editorial houses here in Brazil cannot deal with LaTeX !

4. With Eliza Wajch, from the Siedlce Un., Poland (https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Eliza-Wajch), in several issues in the mathematics of quantum theories, so as in the development of a quantum mereology.

5. I was invited to give a talk at the Chilean Conference on the Philosophy of Physics, which is scheduled for December 14 to 16 in Santiago. My talk will be "Quantum non-individuals and their logic".

6. I was also invited to give a talk at the São Paulo Advanced School on Contemporary Logic, Rationality, and Information (SPLogIC23), which will be held in Campinas, SP, in February 2023. My talk will be "Prolongents of Ensaio: Schrödinger Logics and Quasi-Set Theory".

7. I was invited to give a talk at the 17th edition of the International Congress on Logic, Methodology and Philosophy of Science and Technology (CLMPST-2023), which will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, during July 24-29, 2023.
