Kopal Rastogi believes that education is the most important asset and quality of a man, and one should attempt his best to acquire it. Therefore, she places a high value on constant learning and enjoys solving problems. Her long-term career goal is to be a significant contributor to the research areas of her interest and, at the same time, to uphold the Indian higher education system as a teacher.
She is currently pursuing Ph.D. in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Jodhpur, under the joint supervision of Dr. Dip Sankar Banerjee (Associate Professor, CSE, IITJ) and Dr. Dipanjan Roy (Associate Professor, AIDE, IITJ).
She is passionate about learning how Machine Learning and Neuroscience complement each other. Her research agenda for the near future is inspired by the fact that recognizing the patterns in the data leads to beautiful insights, and modeling object dependencies allows the system to discover the relationships that are an approximate imitation of human intelligence.
She has completed an M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering from PDPM Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Jabalpur, India, under the guidance of Prof. Atul Gupta (Professor, CSE, IIITDMJ). She successfully defended her master's dissertation titled " Automatic Generation of Test Cases using Selenium" in July 2019. Her master's dissertation focused on examining and ameliorating the notions of automated test case generation in vogue. The main advantage of utilizing UML-based use cases is that they are popular in the industry. Moreover, they are slightly more formal than textual requirements and equally preferred by the business people and the IT people. Another source of functional requirements is business rules. Since these business rules are available prior to the requirements elicitation, reusing them in an IT backdrop will reduce the effort to an extent.
She qualified UGC-NET (Assistant Professor) in July 2018. She also qualified CII-iPATE in December 2020. She is also a recipient of the GATE - PG Scholarship for a tenure of 2-years for pursuing an M.Tech.
She was Mentor at Jagriti, an initiative taken by IIITians to provide free education and academic assistance to underprivileged children. She also acted as a member of the Student Senate, IIITDMJ, from August 2018 to July 2019. She also organized a 1-day workshop on Python learning, "24 Hours of Python (8th November, 2020)," in association with Progate, Japan.
She was a student member at ACM for a period of 3 years (November 2020 - October 2023). She also writes technical articles and blogs whenever she gets spare time. Her articles can be read here.
