Programming for All Abilities
Tracy Houchens, Logan County Public Library & Jackie Morgan, Active Day
Hotel Conference Room
Outreach programming focused on individuals with developmental disabilities (IDD) are needed to address gaps in access, inclusion and representation in community life. Age appropriate, respectful yet engaging sessions can fill the gap for those IDD with barriers such as limited transportation. The programming also adds to cognitive and physical stimulation, promotes independence and positive self confidence/image. By providing these outreach programs we can narrow the gap and improve relations with our IDD community members.
