Stream Watch Volunteer

When did you first join Stream Watch? I've been involved with Stream Watch since 2014.

What inspired you to join Stream Watch as a volunteer? I no longer work with the fish and wildlife service, but Stream Watch allows me to do similar work.

What do you love most about the program? Just being out. I gotta be out doing something; you gotta keep moving. I like interacting with the people too. Except when it's my buddy. Because if he starts talking about fishing, it'll be like an hour.

What are you most excited for this summer? Maintaining the integrity of the streams. I learned something today that was shocking. In 1974, you were allowed 1 fish a year on the Russian River. Now, this year we were being allowed 9 a day, and 18 in possession. We brought this stream back to a condition where we are able to get 9 fish. Think about that. Maintaining the river - that's what excites me. When I see the fences getting knocked down I want to raise them. I want to do something.
