If you are unsure of the plant your feline or canine ingested, please take the sample with you to the vet, if they have been able to vomit up the plant please take that as well. If you know the name of the plant that will help a LOT, there are apps and websites to help identify if it is a poisonous plant. "PictureThis" is an app for your phone to help identify plants. Below is a list of toxic plants and the severity.
Symptoms to Watch For
Most symptoms seen will be the result of irritation or inflammation, such as redness, swelling or itchiness of the eyes, skin or mouth.
When deeper parts of the gastrointestinal tract, like the stomach and intestines, become irritated, vomiting and diarrhea are likely to happen but not always.
Difficulty breathing (if the airways are affected)
Drooling or difficulty swallowing (if the mouth, throat or esophagus is affected)
Vomiting (if the stomach or small intestines are affected)
Diarrhea (if the small intestines or colon are affected)
Excessive drinking and urinating (if the kidneys are affected)
Fast, slow, or irregular heart beat and weakness (if the heart is affected)
If the plant causes any severity of illness or issues it will be listed here even if the evidence is limited to back up the claims.
