1.1 SMS Data (Bank-related messages only)
Koshpal requests permission to read SMS messages only for the purpose of detecting bank transaction messages.
We do not read personal, OTP, or non-financial SMS messages.
We use this data to:
Automatically detect income and expenses
Categorize transactions
Provide accurate financial insights
All SMS data is processed only on the user’s device.
The information collected is used to:
Categorize payments based on SMS patterns
Display bank-wise and category-wise expenses
Help users manually add or edit transaction details
Improve user experience and app performance
We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, or sharing with third-party services.
All data, including:
SMS-extracted transactions
Manually added transactions
Bank-wise reports
Categories and preferences
is stored locally on your device using Room Database.
We do not upload, store, or transfer any user data to external servers, cloud storage, or third-party platforms
We do not sell, trade, or share user data with any third party.
Your data stays completely private and is never transmitted outside the app.
Koshpal requires the following permissions:
READ_SMS / RECEIVE_SMS
To read bank transaction messages
To automatically detect expenses and income
POST_NOTIFICATIONS
To notify users about updates inside the app
We only request permissions essential for the app’s core functionality.
Koshpal is intended for users 18 years of age and above.
We take user data security seriously.
Since all data stays on the user's device:
No internet transmission occurs
No server-side storage is used
Users retain full control over their information
Users can delete data directly from the app at any time.
Uninstalling the app will remove all stored data from the device.
