Regular Season
Format: 12 teams, divided in 2 groups (A and B). Each group member plays the other twice - home and away - for a total of 10 games each
Scoring points: 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss
Table order:
Qualification for Championship Round: 1-3 place of each group enter Championship Round (called group C)
Qualification for Relegation Round: 4-6 place of each group enter Relegation Round (called group D)
Championship Round
Format: 6 teams, playing home and away against the teams not played against in Regular Season - for a total of 6 games each
Scoring points: 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss
Table order:
Qualification for Play-offs Semi Finals: 1-4 place of the Championship Round qualify for the Play-off Semi Finals
Relegation Round
Format: 6 teams, playing home and away against the teams not played against in Regular Season - for a total of 6 games each
Scoring points: 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss
Table order:
Relegation from the league:3 place: enters Play-offs 1/2 with the loser of the Championship Final of the 2nd level (Hoofdklasse) for 1 place in 2022-23 Korfbal League4-6 place: relegated to 2nd level (Hoofdklasse)
Promotion to the league: 1 team from Hoofdklasse1 more team from Hoofdklasse possible to promote through Play-offs 1/2
Play-offs Semi Finals
Number 1 meets number 4 of the Championship Round. Number 1 plays home the 1st match, Number 2 plays home the 2nd match and Number 1 plays at home in a possible 3rd matchNumber 2 meets number 3 of the Championship Round. Number 2 plays home the 1st match, Number 3 plays home the 2nd match and Number 2 plays at home in a possible 3rd match
Winners are decided by the team winning 2 of the matches against their opponent, and will qualify for the Play-off Final
Play-off Final
The two Play-off Semi Finals winners meet each other with the winner becoming Champion of the Netherlands.
Winner is decided over one leg.
The match will be played at a neutral venue
