They say a great president can be judged by their first few days in office. Koopa understands this. As soon as she's inaugurated, she will fulfill a list of goals she would meet within the first 2 weeks of her administration. Her ideas are ambitious and optimistic, but she knows she can get it all done, all within the span of 336 hours. Listed below, here is a list of her goals:
Declare climate change as a national emergency
Ban the military from barring soldiers on the basis of gender identity
Give at least three executive awards within the first 2 weeks
Make Christmas and Hanukkah national holidays
Go on a foreign visit
Give a State of the Union speech on day 14 regarding how it's all coming together
And that's only the first 14 days. She plans on doing much more afterwords, but it's very important to set specific goals of what this administration wants done. Here are a few more ideas Koopa has:
Ban campaign funding from Super PACs
Support temporary nuclear power
Pardon John Engle
Tax companies for using consumer data
Institute a federal basic income for all Atlasians over the age of 18
But hat's just the tip of the iceberg.
Aggressive action on climate change: The pace that this nation is adapting to the climate crisis is too slow. We need aggressive climate action now. We have 12 years according to international and government officials to try to reverse the effects of the climate crisis and all estimates have pointed to us being behind that curb. We need to have a plan to reduce carbon emissions in the next 6 to 10 years, and we'll be focused on working with top climate specialists to reach that goal, and legislators to get on board with this policy.
LGBT Rights: We neeed increased efforts on LGBT equality, for a community that has been rampantly discriminated against despite being equal to a heterosexual person in every way possible. I've done work in the past through negotiations with the Senate and amendments in the House to pass a large scale LGBT support bill, but there's more to do, including making attacks on sexual orientation in the same category as other hate crimes, increasing accessibility for support services for people suffering from depression and other related mental illnesses, a ban to conversion therapy practices, and hopefully a program that will deter authority figures such as parents from shunning minors who may want to come out to them.
Public education reform and modernization: We all know that each student learns at their own pace, the public education system in its current form is not nearly modernized enough to help the individual student. We plan to mandate a modernization plan on both students' and schools' ends. For students, this means a more personalized educational program for those not able to keep pace with others, and on the school system end, more resources should be allocated to renovating and providing schools with new technological solutions. This modernization should also save capital for these schools in the long term due to a lack of recurring expenses in traditional school supplies and upgrades.
Economic policy: While the deficit has been decreased during the Griffin administration, we still have to aggressively attack our nation’s deficit and balance the budget. Despite the claims by the president, the endless spending increases by Congress provide a stark contrast to what’s being portrayed. In our administration, we will not only work with congress to balance the budget but to create an economic surplus for the country. In terms of our citizens, we plan to roll out a policy of a $15/h federal livable wage to replace current minimum wage policies. We plan to rework the tax system to not only be easier and more streamlined, but to be less aggressive against lower and middle-class Atlasians and properly tax big companies who are currently avoiding paying their fair share such as Google and Amazon. These companies, as well as more traditional media companies, have grown too big and far too unregulated by our government to continue to be trusted to be in the best interests of both our country and our people. We pledge to break up these companies and provide the economic justice our citizens deserve. Internationally, we shall continue to trade freely with our allies at the borders, and will make deals beneficial to Atlasia while maintaining a healthy relationship with our non-bordering allies. Economic policy is incredibly important to us, we need to maintain our strong standing in the international market and for our citizens at home.
