The Kookaburra, an emblem of New South Wales, is said to be a bird that is healthy, honest, humble, and cooperative. It possesses a cheerful enthusiasm, remains grounded, and maintains deep connections with family and friends. We opened Kookaburra Japanese Language School with the earnest wish that our students grow to embody these same qualities.

Our Primary Division ranges from Kindergarten to Year 6, with classes held at Lane Cove Public School. Starting from 2027, we plan to progressively open Advanced Classes for students in Year 7 through Year 12.

Instruction is provided by a team of highly experienced teachers who hold Japanese teaching credentials and have extensive backgrounds in Japanese supplementary schooling.

“Cultivating Japanese Language Skills Step-by-Step”

We provide students—many of whom are native English speakers—with a curriculum close to that of schools in Japan. Through Japanese language lessons, historical topics, and cultural events, we foster an environment where students can enjoy learning at their own pace and developmental level.

“A Place to Save for the Future Self”

We want the effort students put in every weekend to become a “savings account” for their future. Just as one eventually uses money saved bit by bit in a piggy bank, we aim to develop Japanese proficiency that students can one day “withdraw” and utilize in their future lives and careers.
